Hampden Pocket Watches
Hampden's fine quality watches had a 14 karat gold case made of 57 separate pieces, and a 17 jewel movement. The company was sold in 1925 and a few years later went bankrupt. In 1927 all of the watch making equipment was sold to a Russian company which contracted 21 of the Hampden employees to teach the Russians the art of watchmaking. It has since been reported that the Hampden watch making equipment has found its way into China.
